So, it was foggy breezy one early June morning the flea market Sunday. Normally the hunt is for vintage watches, and fountain pens, but I always have a keen eye for the obscure.
I turned into an aisle that I not normally go down, looking for a pair of vintage Van’s tennis shoes made in the USA, for this particular isle is mostly vintage clothing and shoes, when my eye spied a ratty looking cardboard box, and scrawled on the side was the words “1967 VW parts.”
My throat was dry with desire and an orange juice!
As my heart pounded the rhythmic beats of impending deal making, I looked inside to see the shadowy glories within. Contorting my face into the best poker look possible, I asked “How much is the whole box?” Of which the reply was most favorable to my pocketbook.
Paying the vendor, and pivoting on my heel with the ratty box in hand, I, like a the double faced Roman god Janus, changed from my poker mask, to my “Score” mask, and briskly strode to my car, enjoying the endorphins rushing to my head.
