Chris Vallone’s L518 Java Green ’67 Beetle

Hello, ’67 Beetle community.
As we mentioned in an earlier thread, our good friend Chris Vallone over at Classic VW Bugs in NY has just finished restoring a ’67 Beetle. (Over 80 photos!) This car is a gem and we wanted to give it another showcase.  It’s even got an NOS correct rear bumper. Amazing!

This car was found in North NJ in mid 2012. It’s rock solid, and needed very little body work.  This is a numbers matching Body, Chassis, Motor, ’67 Beetle.

Did I also mention that this gem is for sale?

Hello, I'm Eric. I started Air-Cooled Artifacts (previously, and Lane Russell). I drive a '67 Beetle daily and love to share vintage Volkswagen stories with the world.

  1. Yuuuugely beauuuutiful!

  2. Oh my! That’s a beauty! Are those chrome rims with the center painted black? I like the look with wide whites.

  3. Beautiful job. Love the green. Looks like it’s ready for a national class show.

  4. Such a nice resto. I wonder way they didn,t put in a sapphire 5 radio.???

    1. Yeah I had a blaupunkt in stock and it looked good in there. I do have a radio delete plate too all painted. A sapphire would be cool.

  5. Art on wheels.

  6. Chris this car is amazing….your eye for “artful perfection” far exceeds expectations!

  7. Great resto, but he’s apparently not aware that the front fenders are Mexican after-market, not Original German. You can easily spot this by the mis-positioning of the horn grilles and headlight position. Also, he does not have the original “Window Box” headliner trim configuration. All still nice however.
I also have a fully restored 1967 , Java Green, sunroof Beetle with stock Gazelle tan interior. Have had it since 1969.
