Jan 2021 Issue – HotVWs

Good morning. A quick article worthy of a mention. Both our small business that focuses on the Restoration of German Vintage VW Engine Components (Lane Russell) were mentioned in the Jan 2021 issue of HotVWs.

In memory of my Grandpa, Frank Shoemaker Sr. I love you, I miss you.

Hello, I'm Eric. I started Air-Cooled Artifacts (previously, 1967beetle.com and Lane Russell). I drive a '67 Beetle daily and love to share vintage Volkswagen stories with the world.

  1. Eric, what a great honor to have your grandpa, yourself, and your OUTSTANDING ’67 Beetle featured in this time honored VW magazine! Many kudos to you, and yours!

I read that article and said, I know that guy. Congratulations. Better fire up the ultrasonic cleaner and start pumping out those fuel pumps and carbs… Merry Christmas. Hank

  3. Eric its nice to see that your commitment and hard work pays off. Congrats.to you both.

  5. Glad to see your family getting the recognition it deserves. How long has the web site been around? At least 10 years. GOOD job.

    1. I started this site in 2009.

  6. Recognition in the Volkswagen Community of Eric and Amanda Shoemaker and their work through 1967beetle.com and their VW Parts Business (Lane-Russell) is well deserved. Countless hours, sleepless nights and a lot of money goes into the Shoemaker Enterprises constantly. We out here, on the receiving end, often miss that measure of dedication which is directed towards us. The atmosphere fostered by the Shoemakers is one of “community”. Personally, I get the immediate feeling that I am not alone. Help is there–often at a moment’s notice. I want to raise my voice with all of you other 1967 Beetle owners in a salute to the Shoemakers! jay

    1. Good morning, everyone. Thank you so much for the kind words!

  7. No surprises here. Your Opa was a man’s man and successful at just about everything he put his mind to. Shouldn’t be too much of a stretch to understand that the fruit rolls not far from whence it came. Welcome to the club, grasshoppa

    1. Bill,
Thank you. In honor of my Grandpa, Frank R. Shoemaker Sr.
