Listing Mistake & ’67 Beetle VINs

Thanks, readers, for all the feedback about yesterday’s South African classified. As I suspected, the ad was a later model vintage Volkswagen. Many emails were exchanged, and I decided to pull the listing. Accidents, mistakes happen.

Mark Massey of OldVWs Restoration sent a fantastic resource that helped in my research. You can insert your vintage pride and joy’s VIN and find out detailed information about the year it was produced. Also, Everett has a listing of detailed ’67 VINs on TheSamba.

There are some great articles going up in the next few weeks. Enjoy.

  1. Hey Eric.
Thanks for this info. I saw that posting too; it was for sure not a ’67. This site is a huge resource to us all. Keep the good stuff coming.
