Pavan Kadam’s ’67 Beetle

Featured ’67 Beetle — Pavan Kadan

In the US, UK and Europe, we take for granted that most parts can be purchased locally. When these parts are hard to get, we use the wide variety of vendors to get our restorations just right. Pavan Kadam has pursued his passion for vintage Volkswagens in his home country of India. Parts are very hard to come by. But, determination and ingenuity means that once again his 1967 beetle breathes new life.

My Name is Pavan Kadan, I live in Namma Bengaluru, India. The photo below shows how my ’67 VW Beetle looked the day I bought it. It was laying (rusting away) in a workshop for 15 years. The car was registered as a

2013 So Cal Vintage Treffen

Friday, we visit Lenny’s West Coast Classics Restoration Shop.

In continuation of the So Cal Vintage Treffen coverage, good pal Chris Vallone in NY just sent over some footage from his journey out West. A big thanks to both Chris and Timm Eubanks for lending their talents to 1967beetle.com.

2013 So Cal Vintage Treffen

So Cal Vintage Treffen

They say a photograph is worth a thousand words. In this case, we have a fantastic story to tell. The So Cal Vintage Treffen took place on September 8th, 2013. I wasn’t able to attend this year. However, our contributing So Cal photographer and good pal Timm Eubanks was on location, camera in hand. A huge thanks to him for providing his talent and time to 1967beetle.com.

“After visiting events in Germany like Bad Camberg and Hessisch Oldendorf, we wanted to bring an old German atmosphere together with strictly Vintage Volkswagens. The Phoenix Club in Anaheim, California is a true “old school” German Cultural Club, as well as the perfect host for an event like this. The So Cal Vintage Treffen is limited to 1957 and earlier Beetles and “Press Bumper” Busses, 1959 and earlier Karmann Ghias, Military Vehicles and early coachbuilts. Our first event held in September 2007 turned out to be a big success, and the plan is to hold it every other year opposite the Solvang Vintage Meet put on by the Golden Gate Chapter of the VVWCA. So if you have an old VW collecting dust in the garage and you want to show it off, or if you’re just looking for an excuse to have an authentic German Bratwurst and beer… the So Cal Vintage Treffen is just the place for you.”

SOLD — L639 Zenith Blue ’67 Beetle

Just listed here at 1967beetle.com for Francis Motor Sports, this L639 Zenith Blue ’67 Beetle is in respectable condition.

“An electronic ignition system was added eliminating the need to change points and condenser periodically. The entire brake system was gone through including replacing the shoes, wheel cylinders, hi-pressure hoses and lines. New radial tires, less than three hundred miles ago, new starter motor, complete tune-up including valve adjustment and carburetor. Add shock absorbers and axle boots to the list and we think you will agree with us that upkeep was a high priority. No rust, no crust to worry about either. Heater channels, floor pans and battery tray are all excellent. Lights, wipers and signals all work as well. Yep, the horn goes beep when the button is pushed. The dash remains uncut.”
